I grew up surrounded by brilliant engineers and educators and I cannot thank them enough for nurturing my passion for STEM and Education throughout my whole life. My dad was an engineer in the truest sense, with endless enthusiasm for building science fair contraptions and troubleshooting computer science projects with me and my siblings. My mother built a one-woman private tutoring business for all things Math and Science before I was even old enough to have my multiplication facts down myself, and I have been fortunate enough to learn from her experience over the years, both as a student and now as another educator. Together, they made the challenges of even my most advanced courses exciting and fulfilling, and I strive to create that same confidence in my students.

In 2017, I took those lessons and a well nurtured love of STEM and cashed it in for an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Houston. My internship at the time of graduation rolled right into a full-time position as a Radio Frequency Engineer at T-Mobile where I stayed for 6 years until I decided it was time for a change. Now, while I am taking a break from that industry to pursue a different direction, I want to use all of my collected experience to make a difference in my community, specifically in the lives of students.

Aside from my professional life, I love spending time with my little family and I dabble in all kinds of hobbies. My husband and I got married in 2021, after which my cat and I moved with him out to the suburbs. She was recently outvoted when we made the decision as a family to get a new puppy, and while they are still working out between them who gets which room in the house, we have plenty of space in our hearts for the both them! My husband and I met dancing West Coast Swing and will happily talk anyone’s ear off about the subject if it means we can share the joy of dance with someone new. We also love a good board game night, have played many games of Dungeons and Dragons, and have invested quite a bit of time in keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic universe. I was a band kid in high school and a theater hobbyist in college, and I still enjoy just about any kind of creative project I can get my hands on, whether that is making music, sewing costumes, or a designing a piece of minecraft architecture!
